This Winchester manufactured second variation hammer assembly has the earliest checkering pattern on the spur and is for model 1894 lever action rifle & carbine produced circa 1894 through 1898. This hammer is in very good condition with light wear and good traces of mellowed original case colors remaining. (file photo)
